With a view to gaining first-hand experience of some French culture, a travelling party of 37 boys and four staff spent last Friday in the town of Boulogne-sur-Mer in Northern France.
It was an early start for the group as they left school at 05:30 and didn’t return until 21:15 in the evening! It was an action packed day, with the first visit being to the Nausicaā Centre National de la Mer, the local aquarium. The boys had the opportunity to see many types of fish and sea creatures, including sea lions, penguins, sharks and even alligators!
Afterwards, the party made its way to the Old Town and broke for some much needed lunch at Le Parisien restaurant. With energy supplies replenished, the boys made their way to the top of the medieval fortified walls of the Old Town, where there were some stunning views.
The trip was rounded off with a visit to the Auchan Supermarket for a spot of shopping. On arrival back at school, the staff and pupils had the chance to reflect on a fantastic day but needless to say everyone was happy to get to bed that evening!
