Boys in Years 4-8 were battling for House pride this week at the Maths department’s inaugural Senior House Maths Competition.
Houses were each required to assemble their own teams prior to the competition in a bid to be crowned Homefield’s Maths kings. The teams were very ably led by the captains, Anish (Bomfords), Rohith (Ellis), Pranav (Grays) and David (Walfords).
The competition itself pushed the boys to their mathematical limits. It was a thrilling challenge as each of the Houses seemed to excel in a different discipline. Ellis came out on top in the team round, whilst Bomfords were quickest to the mark in the speed round. Walfords seemed to fare better in the individual rounds.
The competition went right to the wire but it was eventually Grays which came out on top with 27 points. A big thank you to Mr Skinner and Mr Murani for organising the event, we can’t wait for next year already!
