lower school overview

When you enter our Lower School, you’ll find boys that are energetic, excited, kind and proud to be a key part of Homefield Prep.

We focus on opportunities to celebrate individual and collaborative success and also where challenge is needed to ensure that every boy feels confident and well-prepared.

We understand how early social, emotional and academic development is fundamental in forming positive learning attitudes and behaviours. Learning is not passive, but a partnership. As a cohesive team that works closely with specialist teachers across the school, we reach beyond academic achievement to create an environment of enriched opportunity; holding sports, music and languages in equal esteem.

We are dedicated to ensuring academic progression and that your son has the independence, resilience, empathy and courage to succeed.

We recognise that the world needs creative problem solvers, and so we provide a broad curriculum which encourages curiosity, critical thinking and opportunity to step beyond comfort zones. We aim to give our boys a rich, broad offer which enables them to make discerning choices when they are ready to start their learning journey across sports, arts, academia, or otherwise.

He will learn with peers who celebrate achievement and work collaboratively to overcome challenge. Our Senior boys take pride in their role as mentors to the Lower School and we are proud of our generous ratio of teachers to students that continues throughout the school.

We believe that the limited days of early childhood should be the most memorable of times and through our offer at Homefield Prep, we strive to create experiences that the boys carry with them, long after they leave our school.
