🎻"On Wednesday 5 June, Homefield families were treated to a wonderful concert by the Junior Orchestra and some talented soloists from Years 2 - 6. The Junior Orchestra opened the concert with When the Saints and Biscuit Boogie, performing in nine parts simultaneously, while also standing and using special effects such as a tremolo to finish. Boys then performed solos on a range of instruments - piano, violin, cello, clarinet, flute, trumpet, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, glockenspiel, and saxophone - all delivering polished and confident performances. It was especially lovely that two of our talented Year 6 boys, Kaloyan and Leo, were able to perform at the end of the concert after a busy day at London Zoo! ☀️🏫 We wrapped up the first half of the Summer Term with a whole school assembly, marking the end of a very successful few weeks at Homefield. A huge congratulations to the 80 boys from Year 5 to Year 8 who took part in the @ukmathstrust Junior Maths Challenge (JMC) this year! We’re thrilled to see 28 Gold, 11 Silver and 23 Bronze certificates! An impressive 18 boys have been invited to take part in the Kangaroo challenge, and 3 boys earned invitations to the prestigious Olympiad round. We also heard an inspiring speech from our Head Boy, Atharva. Well done, boys - and enjoy the half-term break! 🌟 #HomefieldPrep #Sutton #Cheam #SuttonSchools #CheamLife #PurleyCommunity #WimbledonFamilies
